PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT: THE MAYOR OF HOUSTON (THE LARGEST CITY IN THE SOUTH OF THE USA) ANNOUNCED IN ABOBO

The Mayor of Houston, the largest city in the southern United States, is expected from July 19 to 21, 2023 in Abobo. This is the information that Jessica Noah, Chief of Protocol of the City of Houston, brought to the attention of Kandia Camara, Mayor of the commune of Abobo, this Monday, July 10, 2023.

 Message from the Mayor of Houston’s emissaries

“The Mayor was a good representative of the city of Abobo in Houston (…) We will work to make this mission a success”. And, to certify that Mayor Sylvester Turner will be present with a delegation of 30 people from the public and private sector in Abobo”, she announced during this meeting which was held at the town hall in the presence of Ambassador Inza Camara, Deputy Mayors and Municipal Councillors.

The context of this visit

During her stay on May 18 in the city of Houston in the State of Texas in the USA, the Minister of State, Mayor of the municipality of Abobo, Kandia Camara, had signed several partnership agreements between Abobo and the city of Houston.The steps are progressing well for the realization of this partnership.

“About 2 months ago, we were warmly and fraternally welcomed by the Mayor and City Council of Houston, the 4th largest city in the United States. It was a memorable welcome (…) We signed several partnership agreements. The mayor subsequently accepted my invitation, therefore, he will indeed be with us here in Abobo from July 19 to 21, “said the city councilor.

Before the meeting with the emissaries of the mayor of Houston, sites and construction sites in Abobo were visited. This is the school garage, the Y4 road passing through the courthouse and the Abobo University Hospital. 

It should be noted that this partnership agreement, which concerns the fields of training, agro-food industry, health, education, entrepreneurship, technology and infrastructure, will boost the development of Abobo.
